The water is so low that you can hardly swim at the beaches on the north side of chicago mainly (Pratt Beach)AND YOU CANT EVEN TAKE A SWIMMING STROKE IT'S LOWER THAN THE SHALLOWIST BABY SWIMMING POOL. THE LIFE GAURDS HAVE TO DRAG THER BOATS OUT ABOUT 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE BEACH JUST TO GET INTOM SOME WATER TO ROW IN THE SWIMMWERS ARE OUT PAST THE FARWELL FISHING PIER LIGHT HOUSE. THE WATER IS SO LOW THAT THE FISHING SITTUATION HAS BECOME A UNFISHIBLE SANDBARD TO A HORRIBLE LOW WATER LEVEL NEVER SEEN CANT DOCK A BOAT ANY MORE AND IT IS BREAKING MANY FISHERMANS HARTS THAT HAVE SPENT ALLOT OF MONEY OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS AND STILL ARE SPENDING ALOT BUT THE WATEWR IS SO LOW THAT THEY CANT CATCH FISH LIKE THEY USED TO WITH THER KIDS AT THE {FARWLLFISHING PIER OF OF FARWEL STREET AND SHERIDEN ROAD ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CHICAGO IN ROGERS PARK THIS IS A DISASTER. THE SAND IS ALSO BUILDING UP TO A DESERT AT THE SAME TIME. THIS USED TO BE THE BEST SPOT TO FISH FOR SALMON AND TROUT AND PERCH NOW ITS A HART BREAKER FOR MANY FISHERMAN AND THER FAMILIES. THE WATER HAS GOT TO BE CLOSE TO 3 FEET LOWER AND THE SAND THREE FEET HIGHER TO SAY THE LEAST. THIS PRIM LOCATION AREA NEEDS TO BE DEADGED OUT AND BE RESTORED TO ITS PRIME POTENTIAL FOR THE SWIMMERS AND THE FISHER MAN AND THE BOATERS

IT IS TRUE ABOUT THE BEACH AND FISHING AND BOATING AROUND FARWELL FISHING PIER ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CHICAGO. WHAT A DISASTER THIS IS. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ARWEA AND OTHER AREAS AS WELL. YOU CAN SEE THE OLD WATER LEVEL LINES ON THE SIDE OF THE HARBORS IN CHICAGO AND ESPECIALLY ON THE FARWELL FISHING PIER WERE IT LOOKS LIKE THE JOHN HANCOCK BUILDING TOWERING OUT OF THE WATWER. IT IS A HORRIBLE SITE. TONS OF STEEL AND NO WATER. IT USED TO BE A GREAT LOOKING PLACE NOW IT'S OBVIOUSE THAT THER HAS BEEN A MASIVE LOSS OF WATER AROUN THIS AREA. THE BEACH MUST BE FITY FEET FARTHER OUT AND NTHING BUT A SAND BAR. THER USED TO BE GRAT SWIMMING AND FISHING THER FOR YEARS. I DONT KNOW HOW THE LIFE GARDS ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO OPERATE NEXT SUMMER. THER GOING TO HAVE TO GO OUT TO THE BOATING BOUIES [PRACTICLY NO KIDDING IT'S BAD. I AGREE ABOUT DREADING SOME SAND OUT OF THE AREA TO SAVE IT OR DO SOMTHING AND TRY TO RESTOR IT BACK TO A FUNTIONAL FUN AREA NEXT TO FARWEEL PIER LIKE IT WAS SO WELL FOR SO MANY YEARS. PLEASE LOOK AT THIS AREA AND FIGHT TO SAVE IT.

IGREE YOU CANT EVEN HARDLY SWIM THER ANY MORE. I CANT BELIVE THIS IS BECOMING A BIG WASTELAND. THIS IS A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DISASTER.I HAVE BEEN SWIMMING AND ENJOY THIS AREA FOR SO MANY YEARS ALONG WITH ALOT OF OTHER CHICAGO REIDENTS AND WE ALL ARE HART BROKEN ESPECIALLY FOR ARE CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN. IT USED TO BE THE MOST BUEATIFULL BEACH ON THE PLANET NEXT TO THE FARWELL FISHING PIER IN ROGERS PARK. I FEE; BAD FOR THE FISHER MAN AND THE KIDS. I BELEVE THIS AREA NEEDS LOTS OF ATTENTION FOCUSED ON IT IF THER IS AN AREA WERE THE LOW WATER LEVEL IS PAINEFULLY OBVIOUS THIS IS IT. THIS AREA WOULD BE A GREAT PLACE TO START SOMETHING BIG. IT WOULD MAKE ALOT OF CHICAGO RESIDENTS HAPPY TO SEE IT LOOK AND WORK WONDERFULL AGAIN AND RESTORE THIS GEAT LAKE MICHIGAN NATURAL LAND SCAPED AREA FOR LAKE MICHIGAN BOATING, FISHING AND SWIMMING AND BEAUTY THAT IT HOLDS ON TGHE COAST OF LAKE MICHIGAN. SAVE IT BEFORE IT'S TO LATE THIS PLACE HAS BEEN SCREAMING TO BE SAVED FOR DECADES. IT'S ALMOST DEAD.THE WATER IS SO LOW AND THE SAND IS SO HIGH. THE FISHING PIER IS SUCH A WONDERFULL PLACE FOR FAMMILIES TO GO FISHING IT'S A REAL GEM WITH AND WONDERFUL OLD FASHIN LIGHT HOUSE AT THE END EVERBODY IS WONDERING WERE THE WATER WENT. THE Y HAVE LOVED THIS PIER ON THE COAST OF LAKE MICHIGAN WITH ITS LIGHT HOUSE AND ITS BLUE WATER FOR DECADES IT IS AN LAKE MICHIGAN PICTURESK PLACE TO ENJOY A WONDERFULL DAY ON LAKE MICHIGAN'S CAOST ALL YEAR. THIS LAKE MICHIGAN COASTLE TREASURE NEEDS TO BE RESTORED AND PRESERVED NOW! GET THIS BEUATIFULL PLACE LOTS OF ATTENTION. THIS IS AN LAKE MICHIGAN WONDERFUL NATURAL COASTLE SITE TO BE FOUCUS ON URGENTLY.

I have been reading these comments and there must be some funding to move some of this sand out of the water. It's not just the water that is incredibly low but the sand has built up at the same time and that seems to be the big reason why you cant go swimming there any more unless you walk about 50 yards just to take a dip and you cant do that because then your out to far by the baoting areas past the fishing pier. this beach used to be a regular beach and gradually droped off.It was great for swimming now it's nothing but beach and ankle deep water and sand bars. it used to be around 10 to 15 feet around the fishing pier now it must 3 or 4 feet. This is not ok. Somthing has to be done.Noboby can go swimming or fishing there any more in a great public lake front recreation area and high priced residential area. I have seen this area first hand and this information is true. This is a disaster for the chicago residents living on the north side of chicago. I think the chicago life gaurd district will be going to say somthing about this next summer because of the inability to conduct there life gard servic because of the sand bars and ther inability to get ther boats in the water without draging them out fifty yards off the beach first just to get them in the water and the fact that this will be safty hazerd to the residence that have to go out to the boating waters just to get to ther waste in water. This disipering public swimming and fishing area must be saved by removing some sand out of this area around the farwell fishing pier and between pratt beach and the layola collage campus around albian beach. It would be aq real failier if this major public swimming, fishing and boating recreation area is not restored and preserved for the future generations to enjoy befor it becomes a usless public recreation area for people to just look at indisgust at a eyesore wasteland. Taking up tons of land that used to be a WONDERFULL AND BEAUITIFULL LAKE MICHIGAN PUBLIC RECREATION AND NATURAL LESIURE AREA.This lake michigan site should be cared for with the resourses to do so or it would be a failure on are behalf for are future generations to enjoy. It WAS an amazing place AND SOMTHING MUST BE DONE TO MAKE IT AN AMAZING PLACE AGAIN.

EVERYONE IN THIS AREA IS CONCERNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AT THE BEACH AND THE FISHING PIER AND WE WANT SOMTING DONE ABOUT IT. THE FISHERMAN SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BY ILLINOIS FISHING LICENSES ANY MORE UNTILL SOME SAND IS REMOVED AROUND THE FARWELL FISHING PIER. THEY WONT BE BUYING ANY BAIT OR TAKLE IN CHICAGO ANY MORE ASSWELL.THE RESIDENTS ARE RELLY DISIPOINTED THAT NOTHING HAS BEEN DOEN OVER THE LAST FEW YAERS AND NOW IT IS SO SHALLOW THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO GO SWIMMING THERE ANY MORE AND IT LOOKS LIKE A MESS. WE WANT SOMTHING DONE ABOUT THIS PUBLIC RECREATION AREA IN ROGERS PARK THIS SRING BEFOR SUMMER OR DURRING THE SUMMER IF THATS WHAT IT TAKES. WE WANT TO SEE SOME SAND BEING REMOVED PLEASE BEFORE IT'S TO LATE. THANK YOU! ROGERS PARK CONCERNED RESIDENTS COMMITIE.
